Anthony's Sweatshirt

Anthony is a beloved community member inside that has served significant time. It is with profound sadness that Anthony has been diagnosed with terminal stage 4 cancer. 

Anthony is a community leader who has been actively involved in ReclaimWA (formerly known as Univeristy Beyond Bars), Collective Justice, and the broader learning community at the Monroe Correctional Complex over a 20 year period which showcases his investment in his own growth, the growth of his community, and speaks to the value he places on educational opportunities for his peers. He is also a consistent member and leader in the Black Prisoners’ Caucus (BPC), and has been actively involved in fostering positive change inside and outside of prison. 

Now facing the harsh reality of metastatic cancer, Anthony's continued incarceration contradicts the principles of justice and compassion. As community, we are wrapping around Anthony and his family to request his immediate release so that he can be comfortable with his family and community while receiving the best treatment. In order for Anthony to be supported through this process we are asking community to contribute to this journey of bringing Anthony home and getting him the care he needs. Our goal is to raise $32k for:

• travel, lodging, food for his family who live out of state to come to Washington and visit Anthony once per month
• a year of housing, transportation, food and starter money
